This was a day to remember and one I can’t wait share the entire day with you! But for now, a little sneak peek because this little blog needs to get back up and running:-) Choosing a favorite to share for a sneak peek was so hard because I had several favorites and they all had a different feel. It was our first wedding where it official rained and had a little impact on portraits…but we took advantage of every little bit we could. When we first arrived, it was a gorgeous, but HOT, summer day! It stayed that way and as we all watched the radar, we kept hoping it would pass us. As we walked outside with the bridesmaids, it looked like it was about to pour but it wasn’t yet so we were going to chance it! We walked around to attempt to do them outside and the sun came out in full force! It stayed like that for awhile and the ceremony was still set up outside. The groomsmen came out and sun was still out. Ceremony then started and it wasn’t until the end that it started drizzling…and it started to get dark. This was where we had to make a decision. We looked at the radar and knew it was coming but it wasn’t pouring yet…just a little thunder in the distance. I looked at Brittany and asked her what she thought and she said, “Let’s do it!”. Normally, after the ceremony, we do family formals, bridal party, and then bride and groom portraits but I had to change it up this day. I had to get Brittany and Aaron some portraits outside with the gorgeous view that sold them on why they were having their wedding at Trump Winery! It was dark, and it was thundering, but we got them out and it was the quickest I have ever shot portraits but I am SO thankful we were at least able to get them some outside and with a view. It would have been heartbreaking if we had to do all of their portraits inside…although, it was gorgeous inside to….but everyone loves a Charlottesville Mountain view! :-) Then it started to drizzle but the wedding party was already standing outside and I said, “Let’s do it!”…and Brittany looked at me and said, “We’re fine, Kristi. No hurry!”. As it started thundering a little closer and with the rain starting to pick up a little more, we went as fast as we could and got some memorable wedding party shots! Best wedding party ever for braving the rain…and for being so flexible with the change of order for portraits! Aaron + Brittany, they say rain brings good luck, right? :-) Thank you for trusting me with changing the day around a little bit and for being so open to anything!! We absolutely can’t wait to share the rest but for now, enjoy a little sneak peek!:-)
So thankful for the rain holding off for just a little bit because Brittany, you are stunning!!
